Our #evoMTL Valentine’s Day Guide

If you are in a relationship, you might want to think about doing something special with your loved one on Valentine’s Day. If not, well you’ll surely want to spend some time with your friends and/or family to forget about your single status for a night ;)! Here is a list of ideas that’ll probably spark your interest :

Feeling fancy? Get out of your comfy apartment and go all in for this special day! Bring your loved one to a romantic hotel, buy yourselves a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the view. Did you know that many hotels offer Valentine’s packages? Everything from chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne to a roses delivery and in-room brunches. How could we ask for more?

No matter who you’re with, going to the movies is always a good idea. There are a lot of nice movies playing in cinemas right now. Feeling romantic? You might want to check out those ones : The Choice, Brooklyn, 45 Years, How To Be Single or Carol. If you’re not bringing a date with you have a variety of choices! Here’s our selection : The Revenant, the latest Hunger Games, Dirty Grandpa, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Stars Wars.

Wanna stretch your legs? The Old Port’s skating ring is renowned for the quality of its ice and for its beautiful views of Old Montreal. Don’t have your own skates? No biggy! You can rent them on-site. You can even use a locker to store your personal items. Hurry up, you only have few weeks left to enjoy these installations. Make sure to check out their ice maintenance schedule before you get there : http://www.oldportofmontreal.com/activity/skating-rink!

Looking for some nature time? Have you hard about the Montreal Botanical Garden? It is a large botanical garden that comprises 75 hectares of thematic gardens and greenhouses. It is considered to be one of the most important botanical gardens in the world due to the extent of its collections and facilities. Sounds like a plan?

Even though the city is filled with skyscrapers, shopping malls, clubs and restaurants, we have some pretty amazing outdoor spaces in Montreal! Some of you are probably searching for a romantic yet adventurous set up for Valentine’s day. Need some fresh air? Les Amis de la Montagne will make you discover Mount Royal like you’ve never seen it before. You could also head over to Parc Jean-Drapeau for some dog sledding rides!

Once again, Montreal has different types of spas that do not disappoint. You and your lover (or friend, or mom) might want to just pamper yourselves next Sunday. Do you have a favorite one? Spa Scandinave Vieux-Montréal, Bota Bota, Strom and Spa Eastman are on our hot list! Some of them even offer a nice Valentine’s package which can include a couples massage accompanied by a live harp concert. Woah 🙂

The cold is kind of discouraging you and your favorite person to go out? No worries. We do not always take the time to cook a nice meal at home, and #VDAY seems to be the perfect opportunity. Look at some online recipes to get inspired and, if you do not have all the ingredients in your pantry, COOK IT will deliver fresh ingredients and instructions right to your door.

No matter what you decide to do this Sunday, we wish you the nicest night!
